Mc Donalds Pumpkin Spiced Latte & Pumpkin Pie Review

http://breweddaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/mcdonaldspsl.jpg
I am currently still attempting to finish this latte and pie, and as I said in a previous post "I love all things pumpkin."

Let's begin with the latte. The only thing that was missing was PUMPKIN flavor. Seriously, there was no way of knowing that this was pumpkin if not for the name. It had a very artificial taste to it as well. It is rich and a tad to sweet for me. This is coming from a person that dumps a pound of sugar in her coffee. Somehow it got better the more I continued to drink it but I would definitely not order this again.

The pie...I couldn't even finish it. I'm grateful I only ordered one instead of 2 like I was inclined to do. It did taste like pumpkin but there was a lingering after taste that didn't taste quite....right. It was almost a plastic like residue. Im not trying to be a tough critic here. I genuinely did not enjoy either of these. The pie was even worse than the latte.http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--vmERp4VZZc/UjrMZ9BPY_I/AAAAAAAAX-o/-YkojGw_clA/s1600/mcdonalds-Baked-Sweet-Potato-Pie.jpg

My conclusion, mediocre at best. Then again what can you expect from McDonalds?

Weekday Meatloaf

Meatloaf is great when you don't have a lot of time to prepare something. Its quick, its tasty, and very economical to make. I read several top rated recipes and took notes on the positive reviews. This is what I came up with...

To make this meatloaf you will need...

1 lb ground beef (90% lean recommended)
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup italian bread crumbs
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
3/4 cup diced sauteed onion
1 Egg
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire
garlic salt and pepper to taste
Ketchup

In a large bowl take your ground beef..

Add all the other ingredients except the ketchup

Mix it very well! It wont look very appetizing at this point but trust me it will turn out great!

Then smooth it out in an oven proof container. I like using glass because it does not stick as much and it is easier to clean. This container is about 9x9 inches. Add enough ketchup to cover the surface. Some people like mixing brown sugar into the ketchup but the ketchup alone is sweet enough for me.

Cover your dish with aluminum foil and bake it for 1 hour at 350 F. Then remove the foil and bake for about another 15 min.

Cut your slices and serve it next to mashed potatoes. You're done with practically no effort.

Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale Vs Dogfish Head Punkin Ale

Let it be known that I am a hardcore pumpkin aficionado. I mean that with all seriousness. I love all things that are pumpkin making Fall my favorite season. Yet, I have never tried pumpkin beer. I do not consider myself an avid beer drinker, but this was something I had to try.

Anyway, after a short road trip to San Francisco the hubs and I stopped by Bevmo and I treated myself to a Blue Moon Sampler and the Pumpkin Ale surpassed the other flavors by FAR.

Its full bodied flavor with subtle hints of spices, and pumpkin notes wooed me in a way I have never felt about beer before. I am happy to have found you my new love.

I was so vocal about this infatuation my husband felt moved to buy me more pumpkin beer. This was how I came to try Dogfish Head’s "Pumkin Ale."
That's right, it’s not a typo its spelled p-u-m-k-i-n on the label. I do not make this stuff up.

Dogfish Head...despite your grotesque name, you were not grotesque at all. This beer unlike Blue Moon was heavier with spices and had a distinct nutty flavor. This is not a beer for the faint of heart.

Let's get down to the nitty gritty.

If you are in the market to try just one of these seasonal beers, go with the Blue Moon! The Dogfish Head is not bad at all I just enjoyed blue moon about twice as much. Whatever your choice is, these are two great options.

Cheers!
